Color Palooza 5K

We finished our first 5K Race this past weekend! The Color Palooza race was held at Hansen Stadium at Dixie State Univeristy and the proceeds benefited local organizations. There were 5 color stations along the route and as you passed through each one you were blasted with color so by the end of the race we looked like a tye dye mess. :) It was a really fun experience and I can't wait to do some more races over the summer!

Dispatcher of the Year

Jace won Dispatcher of the Year! He was nominated and chosen by his coworkers in the St. George Police Department. It was so fun to be able to attend the Awards Banquet and find out that he had won! I am so proud of him and all of his hard work! He truely loves his job and looks forward to going to work and serving the community!

Georgia April 30 - May 7

We were lucky enough to be able to take a trip out to Georgia a few weeks ago. It was an awesome trip and so much fun to see Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Madi. We had lots of fun. The boys did great on the airplane rides which was a relief. We flew out on Trevor's first birthday so we got to celebrate while we were there. He really enjoyed his cake! :) Jace and my Dad played in a golf tournament at their club and they did really well. Jace was in golf heaven! My mom, Madi and I took the boys to Zoo Atlanta one day and Tanner had a blast! Madi was super excited to see the Panda Bears too! We also did some shopping and just had fun being together. It was a wonderful trip and we are looking forward to when we can go again! (Jace says we will be going every May from now on so he can play in the Member/Guest golf tournament with my Dad and I am ok with that :))

Tanner's Swim Lessons

Tanner started his first session of swim lessons at Sand Hollow Aquatic Center this week. He was super excited to go swimming in the pool. I was so nervous all day thinking about it. I was worried he was either going to hate it or be so excited that he wouldn't listen to his teacher very well. But there was no reason for me to be so nervous, he did GREAT! He loved it and he was a great listener! He had so much fun and can't wait to keep going back! I am so glad that he isn't scared to try new things and is such a good boy!

Vegas

April 6, 2013 Jace decided to take a Saturday off work so we could go on a day trip as a family. We decided to head to Las Vegas for the day. Tanner was pretty excited to go for a ride in the car and go to "Begas". :) We saw lots of fun things while in Vegas. We started at the Excalibur which was Tanner's favorite, he kept asking to go inside the castle all day. We went through the MGM, but were a little disappointed because the lion exhibit was gone. After MGM, we went to the M&M and Coke Factories. Tanner was super excited to see the M&M race car but Trevor was not excited about seeing the red M&M. He started crying when the M&M got too close. After that we went through Mandalay Bay, Luxor and then back to Excalibur. After the strip we went to the Town Square Mall. It is an outdoor mall just south of the strip. They have a kids play area with a park, a splash pad and lots of other fun things. We met up with Jace's parents, the Dodge's, and Dallen at the mall. They had all been at Valley of Fire and came down to the strip afterwards. Tonya took Sophie and Tanner on a train ride at the mall and they LOVED it. Overall, it was a very fun but long day! We are looking forward to going back in a few weeks but this time we will be getting on a plane to Georgia!!

Easter

March 31, 2013 We had a great Easter this year. We started by coloring Easter eggs on the Friday before Easter. Tanner had lots of fun coloring the eggs. He thought it was especially funny when he would drop the egg into the dye and it would make a big splash. :) The Saturday before Easter we got together and had dinner and an egg hunt with Jace's extended family. It was Tanner's first egg hunt and he did pretty well. He found lots of eggs and collected about $4. On Sunday, we woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had visited our house! :) The Easter Bunny brought all of us a basket full of goodies. He brought Tanner an Iron Man action figure, Trevor a bucket of blocks, and mom and dad a book and dvd. Also, there was WAY too much candy of course. After looking through their baskets, Tanner and Trevor found the eggs that the Easter Bunny had hid through out the house. After the egg hunt we went to church with Jace's parents in their Santa Clara Ward and then had dinner at their house. It was a fun Easter and the weather was beautiful!

Way too long....

Wow, it has been way too long since I have updated this dang blog. A million things have happened in our lives since the last post. To name a few, Tanner had his first and second birthdays, my brother nathan returned home from his mission and got married, my sister madison started high school, jace's sister nikell is pregnant with her second baby and our sister in law, Marissa (Dax's wife) is pregnant with their first baby, both of them are due in August (so excited!!!), and we bought our first home in Ivins, UT, but the most exciting thing that has happened to our family recently is Tanner became a big brother when we welcomed our second baby boy into our family. Trevor Scott Wittwer was born on April 30, 2012 at 12:20 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and measured 20 inches long. He is a beautiful boy and a great baby. Our family is doing wonderful.

Can't believe that Tanner is already 8 months old! Time has flown by so fast! He is growing up like crazy! He crawls around everywhere and is extremely fast, mom and dad are having a hard time keeping up. Nothing stops him, he can climb over or through anything in his way. He is wearing 12-18 month clothes and I would guess he weighs somewhere around 18 lbs. He is the joy in our lives, such a happy baby! I don't have time to post pictures right now but I will soon! Everything is wonderful at the Wittwer household :)

2 Months

Can't believe Tanner is already 2 months old. He is growing so fast! We had his 2 month checkup on Wednesday and everything checked out great! He got his shots, poor guy, but he did great! He now weighs 11 lbs 11 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long, about the 50th percentile in both. The doctor said he looks great! He cried really hard when they gave him the shots but barely cried at all the rest of the day, he is a great baby! Everything else is going great! Jace starts his new job in about a week, May 3rd, cant wait, and then unfortunately, I have to go back to work starting May 10th. Luckily I have a good job and I only have to work Mon, Tues, and a half day on Wed. Speaking of work, I am looking for a babysitter for Tanner for Monday afternoons for about 4 hours, if anyone is interested or knows someone who might be please let me know!

Update

(The first picture is quite a bit older then the second, the second was taken just a couple days ago)

Well we made it back from kauai. The trip was amazing, the island is the most beautiful place we have ever seen. And Tanner did great the whole time, he barely cried on any of the flights and loved spending so much time with his Grandpa Scotty, Grandma Babs, and Aunt Madi, he misses them a lot. Sorry I can't post any pictures from Hawaii right now because we currently don't have the internet at our house so I am borrowing a computer. Anyways, Tanner has been doing great lately. He has started really smiling at everyone and is a lot of fun to plan with. He is such a happy baby, it is great. He has his 2 month appt this week. I am excited to see how much he has grown but not so excited for him to get his shots. I hope he does ok and they don't hurt him too bad. Tanner and mom have been having so much fun being together everyday, but unfortunately I have to go back to work in a few weeks which really makes me sad. It is going to be really hard to leave my beautiful baby. Oh more GREAT NEWS, Jace finally got a job!!!!!!!!!!!! He got a job as a Emergency Medical Dispatcher with the St. George Police Department! He starts May 3rd and we couldn't be more excited! the position is full time with full benefits, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well thats about all thats been going on in our lives. We love our little baby boy so much and can't imagine how we ever lived without him!

Tanner Jace is finally here!

Well our baby, Tanner Jace, has finally arrived. We are so excited to have him here, he is truely a joy to have around. Here's the story of his arrival....

I had a doctor appt on Thursday Feb 18th and went in and my blood pressure was the highest it has ever been, above 150. So due to the high blood pressure, Dr. Winward called down to labor and delivery to make sure they had a room for me because she was not going to let me go another day. I couldn't believe it when she said it. She made sure I had someone to go home and get my stuff for me because she didn't even want me to go home. Luckily my mom was with me at the appt because her and my sister were in town. So I called up Jace to tell him it was time and he was in Cedar! I couldn't believe it. Luckily they were about on their way home. So my mom, my sister, and me walked down to labor and delivery and they set me up in my room. I was truely in shock that it was really happening. And the funny thing is, on the way in to my appt I jokingly said to my mom that I wouldn't mind if I didn't go home from the appt, just straight into delivery, and it really happened, haha! Anyways, so they got me all set up and got the meds started and Jace arrived about an hour later. I was glad to have my mom and sister there with me so I could talk to them and keep myself from freaking out. They were a great help! They started me on the pitocin at just after 4 pm and a few hours later Dr. Winward came in and broke my water. That was the most awful feeling ever. After that, the pains definitely started getting worse. Once they got so bad that I couldn't talk through the contractions anymore, I requested the epidural. It took the nurse and the doc 50 mins to finally get to my room and give me the drugs. I was a little upset at that point. But once he put the epidural in, I instantly started to go numb. It was amazing! The epidural was the best money I have ever spent. Once I was completely numb and the nurse had monitored me for a little bit, she told me that I needed to get some sleep. So we turned off all the lights and all slept for a few hours. The nurse kept coming in and checking me and I was dilated to a 6 for a long time, so they increased the pitocin and within an hour I was fully dialated. It took me a min to realize what the nurse was saying when she was telling me it was time to start pushing. At this point it was just before 5:30 am. So they got everything set up and I started pushing. After pushing for about 20 mins, they decided to call the doctor in and wait to push anymore until he got there. Unfortunately, Dr. Winward could not be there to deliver the baby because she was out of town, but the doctor that did come, Dr. Benham, was great. We started again as soon as he got there and at 6:33 am, baby Tanner was here. It was an exhausting experience, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. He is an amazing baby and we are so glad he is here. He sleeps and eats so well. We love him so much!

update

well heres a pregnancy update. On Monday I was walking through Target on my lunch break and all of a sudden got an excurciating pain in my tummy and got the sweats and couldnt barely breath or walk and also felt like I was going to pass out. When it finally subsided a little bit, I hurried up to the food court and sat down for a few mins and I kept getting pains. I made my way back to work and started timing the contractions and they were coming about every 4 mins and they had lasted about 2 1/2 hours. I finally called the nurse at my doctors office and they said i defintely needed to go to labor and delivery and be checked. so off we went. Got to the hospital and the nurse checked me. She originally said I was still about a one, but then she did a little more checking, and said well you are really posterior and you are about 80% effaced and at about a 3. The first thing that came to my mind was WHAT?! So they monitored me for an hour and checked me again and I had progressed to about a 4. The nurse said I was in early labor and they called my doctor and decided to send me out to get something to eat and to walk and that they would probably see me back later that night or the next morning. So we left the hospital and went to the mall and got some soup and walked around for a while. The contractions were coming pretty steady for about 3 hours but weren't getting much worse pain wise. We decided to go back to the hospital to be chekced just in case. the nurse said I hadn't really progressed and since the contractions weren't super painful yet they decided to send me home again and said I would probably be back the next day. So home we went, again. Well, here we are 2 days later and nothing yet. I'm still having contactions, but they told me not to go back to the hospital until they were so bad that I couldn't talk through them or my water breaks. Unfortunately, I haven't reached that point yet. I have a regular doctors appt tomorrow so we will see what she says. Hopefully she can do something to get things moving faster. Can't wait for this little boy to be here!
