Update

(The first picture is quite a bit older then the second, the second was taken just a couple days ago)

Well we made it back from kauai. The trip was amazing, the island is the most beautiful place we have ever seen. And Tanner did great the whole time, he barely cried on any of the flights and loved spending so much time with his Grandpa Scotty, Grandma Babs, and Aunt Madi, he misses them a lot. Sorry I can't post any pictures from Hawaii right now because we currently don't have the internet at our house so I am borrowing a computer. Anyways, Tanner has been doing great lately. He has started really smiling at everyone and is a lot of fun to plan with. He is such a happy baby, it is great. He has his 2 month appt this week. I am excited to see how much he has grown but not so excited for him to get his shots. I hope he does ok and they don't hurt him too bad. Tanner and mom have been having so much fun being together everyday, but unfortunately I have to go back to work in a few weeks which really makes me sad. It is going to be really hard to leave my beautiful baby. Oh more GREAT NEWS, Jace finally got a job!!!!!!!!!!!! He got a job as a Emergency Medical Dispatcher with the St. George Police Department! He starts May 3rd and we couldn't be more excited! the position is full time with full benefits, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well thats about all thats been going on in our lives. We love our little baby boy so much and can't imagine how we ever lived without him!

Tanner Jace is finally here!

Well our baby, Tanner Jace, has finally arrived. We are so excited to have him here, he is truely a joy to have around. Here's the story of his arrival....

I had a doctor appt on Thursday Feb 18th and went in and my blood pressure was the highest it has ever been, above 150. So due to the high blood pressure, Dr. Winward called down to labor and delivery to make sure they had a room for me because she was not going to let me go another day. I couldn't believe it when she said it. She made sure I had someone to go home and get my stuff for me because she didn't even want me to go home. Luckily my mom was with me at the appt because her and my sister were in town. So I called up Jace to tell him it was time and he was in Cedar! I couldn't believe it. Luckily they were about on their way home. So my mom, my sister, and me walked down to labor and delivery and they set me up in my room. I was truely in shock that it was really happening. And the funny thing is, on the way in to my appt I jokingly said to my mom that I wouldn't mind if I didn't go home from the appt, just straight into delivery, and it really happened, haha! Anyways, so they got me all set up and got the meds started and Jace arrived about an hour later. I was glad to have my mom and sister there with me so I could talk to them and keep myself from freaking out. They were a great help! They started me on the pitocin at just after 4 pm and a few hours later Dr. Winward came in and broke my water. That was the most awful feeling ever. After that, the pains definitely started getting worse. Once they got so bad that I couldn't talk through the contractions anymore, I requested the epidural. It took the nurse and the doc 50 mins to finally get to my room and give me the drugs. I was a little upset at that point. But once he put the epidural in, I instantly started to go numb. It was amazing! The epidural was the best money I have ever spent. Once I was completely numb and the nurse had monitored me for a little bit, she told me that I needed to get some sleep. So we turned off all the lights and all slept for a few hours. The nurse kept coming in and checking me and I was dilated to a 6 for a long time, so they increased the pitocin and within an hour I was fully dialated. It took me a min to realize what the nurse was saying when she was telling me it was time to start pushing. At this point it was just before 5:30 am. So they got everything set up and I started pushing. After pushing for about 20 mins, they decided to call the doctor in and wait to push anymore until he got there. Unfortunately, Dr. Winward could not be there to deliver the baby because she was out of town, but the doctor that did come, Dr. Benham, was great. We started again as soon as he got there and at 6:33 am, baby Tanner was here. It was an exhausting experience, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. He is an amazing baby and we are so glad he is here. He sleeps and eats so well. We love him so much!

update

well heres a pregnancy update. On Monday I was walking through Target on my lunch break and all of a sudden got an excurciating pain in my tummy and got the sweats and couldnt barely breath or walk and also felt like I was going to pass out. When it finally subsided a little bit, I hurried up to the food court and sat down for a few mins and I kept getting pains. I made my way back to work and started timing the contractions and they were coming about every 4 mins and they had lasted about 2 1/2 hours. I finally called the nurse at my doctors office and they said i defintely needed to go to labor and delivery and be checked. so off we went. Got to the hospital and the nurse checked me. She originally said I was still about a one, but then she did a little more checking, and said well you are really posterior and you are about 80% effaced and at about a 3. The first thing that came to my mind was WHAT?! So they monitored me for an hour and checked me again and I had progressed to about a 4. The nurse said I was in early labor and they called my doctor and decided to send me out to get something to eat and to walk and that they would probably see me back later that night or the next morning. So we left the hospital and went to the mall and got some soup and walked around for a while. The contractions were coming pretty steady for about 3 hours but weren't getting much worse pain wise. We decided to go back to the hospital to be chekced just in case. the nurse said I hadn't really progressed and since the contractions weren't super painful yet they decided to send me home again and said I would probably be back the next day. So home we went, again. Well, here we are 2 days later and nothing yet. I'm still having contactions, but they told me not to go back to the hospital until they were so bad that I couldn't talk through them or my water breaks. Unfortunately, I haven't reached that point yet. I have a regular doctors appt tomorrow so we will see what she says. Hopefully she can do something to get things moving faster. Can't wait for this little boy to be here!

28 Weeks

*Had another doctors appt this week and it was a rough one.
*Everything with baby looks great, he is growing right on track and his heart rate is nice and strong.
*Everything with me, not so great.
*My blood pressure was slightly high again, no surprise there, its becoming a regular thing
*Had to do the blood glucose test. Drank the glucola(which isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be) at 9:30 am, and shortly after, I could feel that my blood sugar was high. I got shakey and just didn't feel right. The nurse tested my blood sugar at 10:30 and it measured 146, their cutoff is 140, so, no surprise again, high blood sugar.
*Because of my high blood sugar, I have to go to the lab on monday and have the 3 hour test done. Not too excited about that.
*At my last appt Dr. Winward told me to watch out for any pain in the upper right side of my belly, well a few days ago I started having lots of pressure on my right side ribs, so I told her about it yesterday and because of it I had to get lots of blood drawn and have it sent off to the lab. Luckily the results came back fine and as of right now I do not have preeclampsia. Thank goodness.
*Because of my high blood pressure and high blood sugar, instead of being seen every other week, Dr. said she wants to keep a close eye on me and see me for a follow up appt next week. Hope things improve by then.
*My belly has really started to balloon, I am really starting to feel pregnant.
*Baby moves around a lot, I love just laying around watching him move, it is the best feeling in the world.
*We are really starting to think about names and the one we like best so far is Tanner. We haven't been able to find anything that we like more yet.
*We went to Georgia over thanksgiving to visit my family, it was great seeing them and the trip was great. The flights, however, were way to long and hard on my body. Won't be doing anymore traveling like that til after Baby gets here.
*Had my first baby shower while we were in Georgia, it was GREAT! It was so fun opening all the cute baby clothes, I haven't been able to stop looking at them! Just seeing all the cute baby stuff really gets me even more excited for our little man to be here!
*Sleeping has become really difficult, my hips hurt, my back hurts, got my first really, really bad leg cramp the other night and they have continued, and I have to get up to pee at least twice now and have a really hard time falling back asleep.
*Jace is really cute with him already, he tells him stories at night before we go to bed, I love it! And he is always saying "love you" to my belly, it is so cute!
*We already love this baby more then anything and can't wait for him to be here!

25 Weeks

*Had a doctors appt this week.
*Everything with baby was great.
*I am measuring right on track, 26 cm.
*My blood pressure was slightly high when they took it and since it has been high before Dr. Winward said we need to keep an eye out because it could put me at risk for developing preclampsia or toxemia towards the end.
*Have to drink the wonderful glucose drink before my next appointment, not really looking forward to it.
*I have another appt in about 3 weeks and then I start going in every other week. Can't believe we are already that far along.
*Feel pretty good, my appetite sure has increased, I love to eat.
*Have only gained back about 4 of the original 11 pounds that I lost at the beginning.
*We started our childbirth class last week and it has been quite the eye opener for Jace, haha.
*We are leaving for Georgia next friday for Thanksgiving and my mom is throwing a baby shower for me....so excited!
*We love our little boy so much and can't wait for him to be here!!
