Fishing at Sand Hollow

A couple weekends ago Jace and I went and spend a few hours fishing at Sand Hollow. We waded in about waist deep and just fished. We caught a couple of little fish. I had never been to Sand Hollow before and I am so glad I finally did, it is beautiful! But we did have a little bump in the road afterwards. When we were on our way home, Jace's legs started itching uncontrollably, he was miserable. So as soon as we walked through the door at home, he went straight to the shower. After his shower he felt a little better but still pretty itchy. It got better as the rest of the day went on but then the next day he woke up to a not so good surprise. He had red bumps all over his legs, they looked like mesquito bites, and they itched. We had no idea what they were so we asked Nikell (biology major) and she told us all about this thing called swimmer's itch (thanks for all the info Nikell!). Pretty much its a little parasite that lives in the lake, mainly along the shoreline, and gets in your legs and makes you itch. Some people get it and some people don't, I am SO glad I didn't get it. Anyways, it has been over a week ago and they are finally starting to go away a little bit. Sorry babes, guess we wont be fishing like that at Sand Hollow anymore! Here are some pictures from our fun day...

We like to fish up by the rocks toward the dam--of course I was the only one to catch a bass the last time so girls have the upper hand (it's our PH). Looks like a beautiful day to be at Sand Hollow anyway.
